New legislation on the provision of food information to consumers came into effect on 13th of December 2014. This will require food businesses providing non-prepacked food e.g. restaurants, delis, canteens, takeaways, cafes, retail outlets etc., to indicate to consumers the use of any of the 14 listed allergenic ingredients in the production or preparation of food. In Ireland the information will need to be provided in a written format and the precise requirements are detailed in national legislation which has been published by the Department of Health. Course content includes:

  • Legislation

  • Different Types of Food Allergens

  • What to do in case of an Allergic Reaction

  • Documentation

  • Training

Primarily, this course is designed for managers and supervisors responsible for food safety, but it can also be a valuable tool for any person who spends most of their working day in a food environment.
